Introduction of Maya Ko Sansar

Maya Ko Sansar (World of Love) is a new but experienced organization dedicated to promoting and protecting the human rights and dignity of Transgender Sex Workers, Female Sex Worker and Male Sex Worker. We recognize the importance of working in partnership with government entities to achieve this goal.

We also raise awareness about the unique challenges faced by Transgender Sex Workers and work to destigmatize the profession. Our goal is to create a world where Transgender Sex Workers, MSW, FSW are treated with respect and dignity and have access to the same rights and protections as any other individual.

We need to reshape our own perception of how we view ourselves. We have to step up as LGBTI and take the lead.

Sunita Lama: From Streets to Strength, From Silence to Voice

“Where society saw shame, she built pride. Where there was no path, she became the path.”

In a society that often shuns those who dare to live their truth, Sunita Lama stood tall. A transgender woman, a former sex worker, and the founder of Maya Ko Sansar, Sunita’s life is a story of survival, pain, courage, and activism. Born into a world that rejected her for who she was, she carved a path where none existed.

Forced into sex work not by desire, but by the necessity to live with dignity, Sunita faced daily violence, humiliation, and systemic injustice. And yet, she turned her trauma into power. Over the course of two decades, she went from being a voiceless survivor to becoming the voice of thousands—especially transgender sex workers, male sex workers, and female sex workers in Nepal.

Through her organization Maya Ko Sansar (World of Love), she has become a tireless advocate for human rights, dignity, and equality for those most excluded. This is her story—a journey from darkness to light, from isolation to impact.

Sudip Kumar Thing – A Voice for the Voiceless

Sudip Kumar Thing is a founding member and the dynamic program coordinator of Mayako Sansar (World of Love). Young, energetic, and deeply committed to justice, Sudip is known for his passion for social work, his active role in political discourse, and his visionary strategies to uplift Nepal’s most marginalized communities—especially transgender individuals and the broader LGBTIQA++ population.

His journey into this movement began in 2012, when he first encountered information about the existence and struggles of the LGBTIQA+ community in Nepal. Like many young people, he had never been taught about gender diversity in school or college. The realization that even educated people—including teachers and intellectuals—often failed to recognize or respect the LGBTIQA+ community deeply disturbed him. That moment became a turning point. Instead of turning away, Sudip chose to dedicate himself to learning, unlearning, and fighting for visibility, inclusion, and dignity for those living in the margins.

Maya Ko Sansar remarkable Achievment in 2025

In 2025, Maya Ko Sansar (World of Love) achieved a remarkable milestone by successfully helping a young woman and her entire family obtain Nepali citizenship. This case was especially challenging because the young woman’s grandparents had never been granted citizenship, leaving the family without official proof of their lineage for generations.
