Maya Ko Sansar Advocates for Inclusive Anti-Trafficking Law Reform

Maya Ko Sansar (World of Love) has always been a strong voice advocating for the rights, justice, and dignity of transgender women, men, and female sex workers. In our continued efforts to challenge discrimination and promote inclusive legal reforms, we recently joined hands with FAITH and five other organizations—Women Workers Protection Union (WWPU), Parijat Women’s Group, Jeevan Jyoti Women’s Group, and Sangharsha Women’s Group—to take a bold step forward.

Together, we submitted a formal memorandum to the Minister of Law, Minister of Home Affairs, key government stakeholders, and every Member of Parliament in the Federal Legislature. Our demand is clear and urgent: the Human Trafficking and Transportation (Control) Act must be amended to be more inclusive and sensitive to the lived realities of all individuals, including transgender sex workers.

At Maya Ko Sansar, we firmly declare:

“Trans women are women. Violence against sex workers—regardless of whether they are transgender, cisgender women, or men—must be taken seriously by the state.”

We are committed to equality, justice, and non-discrimination. Through this collective action, we are not only amplifying the voices of marginalized communities, but also pushing for a legal system that reflects dignity and protection for all.
Together, we stand stronger. Together, we demand change.
